April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player from the United States, is among a select category of females who have had medals won in several Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time in Tokyo's Olympics, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. Ross wants to achieve more than her initial Olympic medal. It may well be that this is her only chance, at 39 years old. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly at hand. Ross told NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best and even play well, she believes the team will be able to win the gold medal. So I'm going to take the chance also. Ross was born on August 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. In Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of different sports. Along with playing indoor volleyball, she also played basketball and jogged track as a pre-collegiate athlete. She was definitely the best at the sport of indoor volleyball. According to her bio her high school days, she played volleyball as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and setter (outside blocker). Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her as the National Player 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are performing their roles from 2017. However, Ross was a major player on the beach volleyball circuit before joining the duo. In fact, she won multiple major tournaments with two different partners, one of whom is a volleyball icon. In the period 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was a force in the world circuit, winning a world title in 2009. They took home a Silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor took home gold overtaking them. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross participated in the Trojans at USC during her college after graduating from high school. Ross had an impressive run in college. As a freshmen in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 and NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore season and yet she went on to repeat in the ranks of an All-American. In the two years she played for the Trojans they helped achieve consecutive championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top collegiate female volleyball player in America according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross was a major in International Relations at USC. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie was not able to witness Ross rise to the highest levels of beach volleyball fame. Ross's mom passed away due to cancer of the breast when she was a sophomore in USC. She is devoted to her mother who died. Margie has always been a source of inspiration to her on and off the beach.
